Starting a Facebook page for your blog opens you up to one of the largest audiences on the internet. Sharing content on Facebook is so easy and convenient, especially since your readers most likely already use Facebook regularly. With this in mind, here are a few useful tips for using Facebook to grow your blog:
Post Pictures
Facebook is very visual. Often times, text posts or links can be easily overlooked. Each time you share a new blog post on your Facebook page you should do the following: upload a photo, write a short description of your post in the photo caption, and then add a link to the actual post.
Create photo albums for the different sections of your blog (recipes, style, round-ups). This is a great way to show potential readers what to expect from your blog.
Share Related Content
On days that you don’t share your own blog posts, share other content that aligns with your brand. This can be tips, quotes, inspiration, photographs, articles, etc. You can post links and images that you find around the internet, or use Facebook’s Share button to share other posts already on Facebook.
Interact
Get your fans involved and engaged with one the following: host a Q+A session, share a behind the scenes photo, create a poll, or offer a Facebook only contest. Respond to conversations on your page, this will encourage future conversations. And, if you mention someone in your Facebook or blog post, tag them so they know!
Brand Your Page
You are not only trying to drive people back to your blog, you are trying to build a recognizable brand. Take advantage of the cover image space. Your cover photo is the first thing people will see when they visit your page. With the cover photo, it’s important to be creative, introduce your company, and engage new viewers.
Use a simple and easily recognizable image as your profile picture. This represents your page on other parts of Facebook, such as the news feed of those who like your page. Lastly, arrange your apps in order of importance, and customize your app icons.
When you look at all of the people already using Facebook, it’s no surprise so many bloggers have found success in growing their blog through it. Facebook is a great way to connect with your readers and keep them wanting more! If you don’t already have a Facebook page for your blog, go start one now. It can only help grow your blog!
