Session Overview
At Alt Summit you’ll find a wide variety of class and session types so you can learn and connect in a way that works best for you. Classes and sessions take place throughout the week at all three Alt Summit venues, and some activities are offsite too. Which means you’ll get a chance to explore Palm Springs in a really fun way.
Keynotes, Panels & TED-style Talks
You’ll find world-class speakers and celebrities (like these) at Keynote Sessions throughout the week. Keynote presentations are often interview-style, ending with Q&A from the audience. And it’s not unusual to find a keynote book-signing afterwards.
For a chance to learn from several experts at once, attend a Panel Session. Panels are a smart way to get an overview of a topic, and see how different people with different points of view approach the subject.
TED-style talks are always popular at Alt Summit. They are curated, thoroughly-prepared, stand-alone talks, delivered by a professional speaker, typically accompanied with slides, in a 15-20 minute time frame. In TED-style sessions, you’ll get a quick-but-deep-dive into several fascinating topics.
Roundtables & Expert Desks
If you’d like a smaller group learning opportunity, you’ll love our Roundtables. With 75+ roundtable topics, it’s an opportunity to cover niche topics and under-the-radar issues. During roundtable sessions, you’ll have a chance to spend 30 minutes at three different tables (your choice), and interact directly with the roundtable leader. And good news: roundtable topics repeat on another day, so there’s no FOMO.
For one-on-one interaction, try our Expert Desks. Picture an expert sitting at a desk with a sign showing the particular topic they focus on (like newsletter marketing, or accounting, or Instagram, or website design). And then picture yourself getting to ask the expert questions in a one-on-one format, so you can find answers to the exact challenge you are facing. It’s essentially access to complimentary consulting, and it’s a huge value.
Workshops & Demos
You’ll find practical and helpful hands-on Workshops happening throughout the conference, on topics like photography, marketing, videography, social media, modeling, writing, and photo styling. It’s your chance to get in on the action and walk away with a new, useable, skill that will upgrade the way you create content.
When you need a break from building your business skills, head over to the dedicated Maker Space where you’ll find Arts & Crafts Demos scheduled every hour, and taught by your favorite designers, crafters, and influencers. We’re talking all sorts of crafts — like dip dyeing, wood burning, and calligraphy. Take some time to sit at the communal crafting tables, work with your hands, and make something beautiful. The sponsor booths at the Maker Space also offer craft projects you can work on.
Parties, Fashion Shows, Screenings & Meet–Ups
Beginning with the opening welcome party on Sunday afternoon, you’ll find festive Parties sprinkled throughout the week. Dance parties. Themed parties. Dinner parties. There’s always something fun going on.
For a big dose of inspiration, make sure you attend one or more of our Fashion Shows. Each one showcases a particular designer — new, up-and-coming, or established. And the models? They’re your fellow Alt Summit attendees.
Screenings of women-led movie projects started at the 2019 conference, and we can’t wait to grow this offering and show you more of what these talented women-led teams are working on.
Are you a connector? Attendees will have the chance to suggest and organize their own Meetups, focused on the topics or groups they care about most. Official meetups are listed on the Alt Summit App and are super popular — they’re a great way to find your people and make lasting connections.
Consider that a small overview of the conference, but really there is so much more! Like sponsor booths and activations, field trips, art installations, photo ops, meals, networking, complimentary head shots, gorgeous locations, and loads of inspiration.
