Alt Summit is pleased to announce we are once again teaming up with fashionABLE to host a scarf design contest. We last ran a scarf design contest with fashionABLE — an Ethiopian-based business dedicated to providing work and job skills for women in need — before Alt Summit Winter 2013.
The design that won last time (modeled by Gabrielle Blair in the top photo) was by Janette Crawford of Fashion Loves People. It is called the Genet, and was so popular, it has been spotted on celebrities like Christy Turlington, Jimmy Fallon, and chef Marcus Samuelsson. Where will your design end up being spotted?
How to Submit Designs
Want to help us create a scarf with fashionABLE? Here is what you need to do:
- Email design@livefashionable.com for design parameters and full instructions.
- Start brainstorming; we are looking for all kinds of designs — from elegant simple stripes to all over patterns.
- By July 24th (9 days from now), submit your design or designs to design@livefashionable.com.
How Winning Designs Will be Selected
The Alt Community (you!) submit designs between now and July 24th. The top designs will be sent to Ethiopia to be woven into sample scarves. In mid-August, we all will vote online for our favorite scarf. In mid-September, the winning scarf will go on sale. As the time approaches keep your eyes out for hints and details. (We are super excited about how we will be selling this product.)
What Winners Receive
Winners will a FREE pass to the 2015 Alt conference of their choice along with a $500 credit to spend at livefashionABLE.com. In addition to the Alt Summit pass and $500 credit, as the winner, your name will be attached to the design on all promotion. You will also be helping to create sustainable business for women in Ethiopia.
