The next time you go out to dinner, take a look at the people around you. Are they engaging in conversation with their friends sitting right across from them, or do they have their heads in their phones?
Everyone is in a Pinning, Instagramming, and Tweeting frenzy. Whether you think this is a good or bad thing, it is happening. This frenzy can make some of us feel completely overwhelmed. How do you overcome this feeling, stand out of the crowd and be heard?
One way to do this is to be consistent: Always act or behave in the same way. There is power in being consistent. Here are 4 ways to stand out on social media by being consistent.
Four Ways to Stand Out on Social Media by Being Consistent
While it is wonderful when readers stumble upon one of your social media sites, they key is to get them interested enough to follow you. If you are “always acting or behaving in the same way,” the people that connect with you will come back for more. So how do you do this? Start with your blog consistency, then share away though your social platforms.
1. Be consistent with your voice. Be careful when browsing other blogs for content ideas. Subconsciously you will end up writing about similar topics. Instead, if you always write about things that interest you, and things you are passionate about, like-minded readers will start to follow you. Be unique, be you.
2. Be consistent with your quality. Whether it is an instructional “how-to” DIY, expert advice, or something inspirational, make sure each post has real value. The next time your readers check in, will they learn something or find something they want to share?
3. Be consistent with your content. Do your readers know what your site is about? When you consistently post about similar topics, your readers know what to expect when they pop in to see what’s new. Take time to update your categories and define your niche.
4. Be consistent with your quantity. How often you choose to post and share your life on social media is up to you. However, be consistent with your timing. Choose your pattern and be consistent, whether it’s daily or weekly. Let people know what to expect.
