With several holidays on the horizon, the Internet is teeming with stunning DIYs, clever crafts, and magazine-worthy gift guides. The holiday season is like the grand finale of a yearlong parade of bloggers. Mid-October is just the start. There are so many amazing makers, creatives, and bloggers who are experts at delivering projects that look easy, effortless, and totally doable. I love it. I love finding new ways of seeing things, of dissecting photos, and, most of all, I love soaking up all the creativity that is floating around.
It is easy to wonder how other people do it, how they make everything turn to gold, while the rest of us barely manage to shower everyday. But the truth is, they hustle. They work hard, and they keep themselves organized to maximize time.
So, as the unofficial start of the season, let us all band together to avoid the comparison trap. Instead, give compliments by writing meaningful comments that will create a better community. In fact, just be authentically you.
Whatever you do, do not poison your well by taking negative comments too seriously. Instead, make a list of skills you want to work on. Improve those skills through practice. And, dream as big as you can.
Let us all go into the next few months with nothing but positivity, kindness, and inspiration.
