How often do you step outside your comfort zone? Change up your daily routine?
Why does this matter? Because when we’re not changing up what we’re seeing and doing our perspective and our writing can get stale.
I often forget to try something new. I get caught up in the daily hustle that I don’t stop to smell the roses.
It’s easy to give yourself perspective when you’re on vacation, traveling to a new place. But we don’t have to go away to find inspiration. We can take a different route home or explore a part of town we’ve never been to or haven’t visited lately. We can purposely get lost. (Have you ever set out without a direction and flipped a coin to see if you’ll go right or left at an intersection?) We can try the new restaurant that just opened up or a cuisine we’re unfamiliar with.
