In 2013, we introduced Alter Your World to the Alt community at our flagship event in Salt Lake City. Since then we have loved watching the community strive for change, show acts of kindness, and celebrate doing good.
With Teacher Appreciation Week on the horizon (May 4-8), we were inspired to recognize all the outstanding teachers out there who are utilizing technology in the classroom to engage, inspire, and educate a generation of innovative thinkers.
We have partnered with The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, who supports teachers and celebrates innovation in education, to bring our Alt community a fantastic opportunity. During the next two weeks, we hope you will join us in a contest to celebrate just that and participate for a chance to win a ticket to Alt Summer for yourself and $500 cash for a deserving teacher.
Between May 1st and May 15th, you have three ways to appreciate an educator in your life who is using social media in innovative ways in the classroom. If you’re an educator, we’d love to hear how you are using social media. Please read the entry rules carefully, each platform has specific rules and specific dates for entry.
If your entry is chosen, your spotlighted educator or you, if showcasing your own classroom, will receive $500 for use in the classroom and you win a ticket to Alt Summer 2015. Three winning entries will be chosen, one blog entry, one Twitter entry, and one Instagram entry.
