Thanks to the Internet, web-based applications, and social media platforms, we have more ways to earn a living than ever before. We can sell information and skills, as well as, or, instead of physical products. And we’re able to sell to anyone not just the community in which we live.
But it’s not the lack of options that prevents us from making a living. We can begin publishing for very little cost and build an audience through consistent publication of quality content.
The challenges lie in determining what we want to sell—narrowing our ideas down or prioritizing one over another, deciding how we want to sell our idea, an eBook or online course, and then offering it for sale.
Let’s Chat
Join the Alt community and Alt Summer 2015 sponsor Gumroad on Twitter Wednesday morning (tomorrow) May 27th at 9 AM PT/12 PM ET for an hour-long chat about how you can turn your expertise into a product that connects you with your audience, expands your brand, makes you money, and more. We’ll talk about how you can gauge which ideas have the best potential and what strategies you can incorporate to generate sales.
Never participated in a Twitter Chat before? Visit this previous post for a few pointers on how to join a Twitter Chat.
Meet Gumroad at Alt Summer
Want to go deeper? If you’re attending Alt Summer in two weeks make plans to attend Alison Faulkner’s design camp Wednesday, June 10th at 4:00 PM. Alison of The Alison Show will teach how to decide on a course that’s best for you, how to get stared creating that course, and more. You’ll leave her class smarter, happier, and feeling more in control of your online business.
