So you’ve got your ticket. You are filled with nervous excitement. You may even be counting down the days (Can you believe we are only 40 days away from Alt Winter?!).
And you are wondering: now what? How can you best utilize the remaining time before Alt Winter 2016 to make the biggest impact? Here are three things you can do today to prepare for Alt Summit!
1. Plan Your Business Cards
First, it’s the hap-happiest season of all — the season where we get to to talk business cards for Alt Winter! Seeing the collection of business cards that attendees bring, and witnessing how much creativity can be packed into such a small space, is one of the highlights for attendees. So much inspiration! We’ve pulled together a Pinterest board of cards and gifts from past attendees.
Whether you plan to make or buy, we recommend bringing 200-300. But, if you suspect you aren’t much of a card swapper, 50-100 could be enough. Be sure to include your contact information and social media handles. And no matter how many cards you bring: we hope you enjoy the process. We can’t wait to see them!
2. Connect on Social Media
As the conference gets closer, be sure to connect with Alt so that you don’t miss any info! Our weekly Twitter Alt Chats on Wednesdays at 12 PM EST/9 AM PST are an engaging way to talk with sponsors and peers. And if you are attending the conference, you can join in the conversations on the Facebook group (details on how to join here).
We also offer weekly Periscope classes on Tuesdays at 4 PM EST/1PM PST with lessons on how to stay current in your space. And last but not least, use the hashtags #altsummit and #altwinter2016 on Instagram to connect with other attendees!
3. Book A Room
Third — and this one is super important — have you booked your room for Alt Winter? If not, now is the time to do it! We still have a few rooms still available in our block at the Grand America. So if you still need accommodations for the conference, call the hotel or register online ASAP! And you can check with the Alt Facebook group if you are looking for a roommate.
