NEW THIS YEAR: PIN TRADING!
We have lots of great announcements today for the upcoming conference. Let’s start with pin trading!
When you check in at the event registration desk, you’ll be given a name tag and a lanyard (of course!). Well, this year, consider your lanyard a blank slate. A blank slate you can fill with pins! Enamel pins, button pins, lapel pins, promotional pins — any pins you like!
We’ll have an assortment on hand to get you started, and you’ll even find pins in your welcome box — a gift from Sherwin-Williams. Then, as you wander the conference, you’ll find bowls of pins at the sponsor tables, too. Stop by to pick one up and use the opportunity to make a new business contact.
We also encourage pin trading with other attendees! Offering up a pin from your own lanyard to trade is a great way to say hello. Which reminds us: feel free to bring your own favorite pins to trade, collect and spice up your lanyards.
Fun, right?! Everybody can use more flair!
WEDNESDAY NIGHT IN DOWNTOWN PALM SPRINGS
On Wednesday evening, the night is yours to explore Palm Springs. Enjoy an exclusive ride in the Buzz Trolley, courtesy of the Convention Visitor’s Bureau, to the iconic downtown area — it will pick you up right at the Saguaro Hotel. You can join your new conference friends for networking and laughs over dinner!
We have a few more Keynote speakers to announce today:
Meg Keene is the Founder and Editor-in-chief of A Practical Wedding, which started as a blogspot account on her kitchen table, and is now the top independently held wedding publication in the world. Meg’s work has been referenced in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and NPR. It’s also showed up on sites like Jezebel, Feministing, Refinery 29, and The Hairpin. In summer of 2017, she will be helming the launch of The Compact, a feminist lifestyle publication for women in their (gasp) 30s. She currently resides in the Oakland, CA with her family.
Alison Faulkner of The Alison Show has made a career doing whatever she feels like doing. But it always involves finding ways to feel awesome and help others feel awesome too. Alison is a branding and events expert with a highly engaged online community. She hosts all-female dance parties, writes, speaks to large groups, and teaches workshops and online courses. Alison also runs a digital download and party swag shop called Party with Alison and hosts a podcast with her music producer hubby called Awesome with Alison. She believes in love, dancing inappropriately, and putting your own name in lights.
In 2009 Susan Petersen designed and sewed the first baby moccasins and put them on her blog and Etsy shop. From there the company took off. It is now a leading baby lifestyle company, with over 6,000 percent revenue growth over the past three years. In 2015, Freshly Picked became the first woman-owned company to be named the number one fastest growing company in Utah Valley. Susan has been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, Bloomberg Business and on her favorite moms and dads at the park. The company was also recognized as having the highest revenue growth percentage to date. Leading in social engagement and community, Freshly Picked’s million social media followers love celebrating the shared experiences of parenthood with the brand. From the first step, to the next step, Freshly Picked aims to be there for every step.
That’s it for today, but watch for more exciting announcements this week! Woo hoo!
